Login username, display name and User ID
Which of your names is private, which one people see in AnonyChat, and which one never changes.
Contents
Login username: private
Your login username belongs to your AnonyID. You use it to sign in, together with your password. It is never shown to other people in AnonyChat.
Display name: what people see
Your AnonyChat display name is the name on your profile and next to your messages. It is 3 to 24 characters long and no one else can have the same one. You can change it on Edit profile. A change costs Aura, and the cost is shown before you confirm. Your previous name stays reserved for you for a few days (7 by default), so nobody else can take it straight away.
Your AnonyID has one name, shown in all Anony apps. When you create your AnonyChat profile, the name field starts with the name you gave in your AnonyID, if it fits AnonyChat's name rules and is free; you can change it before you save. Once you have a profile, your AnonyChat display name is the name your AnonyID shows, so you change it here in AnonyChat, not at account.anonylabs.com.
User ID: permanent
A random ID your AnonyChat profile gets when it is created. It never changes, so people can tell accounts apart even when two display names look alike. Your profile link is built from it.
What other people can see
Your display name, User ID, age (not your date of birth), gender, country, languages, avatar, bio, badges and Aura. Your login username, password and date of birth are never shown to other users.
